A depilatory device for removing body hair comprises a manually-grippable housing (2), and a hair-plucker body (10) rotatably mounted to the housing (2) and having an exposed section formed with a plurality of gaps (20) in its outer surface which open and close during the rotation of the hair-plucker body (10) to receive, pluck, and eject body hair growing on a surface over which the hair-plucker body is moved. The hair-plucker body (10) is a flexible cylindrical member of plastic or elastomeric material having a smooth outer surface formed with a plurality of slits (20) penetrating only partially through the cylindrical member (10) and extending circumferentially thereof. This invention relates to plucking devices used to remove hair for cosmetic purposes. The purpose of the invention is to reduce the pain effect. The plucking device for hair removal comprises a body 1 held in hands, in which a flexible cylindrical working element 2 is installed rotatably with respect to the longitudinal axis, having an arcuate section 3 extending beyond the case body, on the outer side of which there are a number of hair entrapment sections 4, made with the possibility of closing and opening when it is rotated to ensure pulling of the trapped hair, and an electric motor 5 for driving the working element 2. The latter is made in the form of plastics ssovogo rod with a cylindrical working surface, and the guide portions are formed by pinched recesses, the length of each of which is part of its circumference. The notches can be V-shaped (FIG. 2) and U-shaped (FIG. 3), but with any shape of the wall, the notches have a flat configuration. The hair growing on the skin first falls into the open grooves of the element 2, with further rotation of which the grooves close, clamp the hair caught in them and eventually pull them out with subsequent throwing. Instead of a monolithic cylindrical element 2, hollow work elements may be used in the hair removal device. In this case, the depth of extraction should be less (in Fig. 6, the recess 4 of the element 2) or more (in Fig. 7, the recess 4 of the element 2) of the wall thickness of the element 2. The plastic cylindrical element is characterized by a soft sensation 5 and a lower probability of pinching the skin during its movement over the skin surface. The use of plastic as a material for an elastic cylindrical element of a hair removal device eliminates the likelihood of a user being shocked by electric current and eliminates the need to use a step-down transformer when powering the drive motor 5 from an AC network.
